The Details...

This gilt metal bracelet features claw set panels of emerald green Pâte de Verre (pressed glass), embossed with a floral design. The bracelet fastens with a box clasp and features an open-lin safety chain.

A Short History...

The process of producing Pâte de Verre was popularised in France in the 19th century. It's a technique which involves pressing glass powder into a mold. The resulting glass-work is very fragile, meaning that older pieces incorporating this technique are scarce. Pâte de Verre was embraced by jewellery designers due to the intricate patterns and rich colours which could be achieved through its use.
