The Details...

This marvellous parure comprises of a brooch and earrings. Each piece features claw set and multi-faceted marquis cut and round clear rhinestones. Suspended from these stones are pink marbled glass teardrop shaped beads and teardrop shaped faux pearls. Each of these features a small silver tone metal petal design cap, each detailed with tiny round clear rhinestones. The brooch setting is rhodium plated metal. The brooch fastens with a round traditional safety catch and the pin is secured to the brooch with a round hinge. The earrings are set in silver and fasten using a screw-back mechanism. The pieces are unsigned, like all of Roger Jean Pierre's designs. But they bear all the hallmarks and quality of his work. A Short History...

Roger Jean Pierre was one of the most renowned 'paruriers' of his time. The 'paruriers', who particularly enjoyed a heyday after the Second World War, created costume jewellery and accessories to adorn and enhance the work of the couturiers. Roger Jean Pierre produced jewellery for and enjoyed friendships with some of the greatest couture designers of them all - namely Christian Dior, Elsa Schiaparelli and Yves Saint Laurent. The jewellery he produced was particularly sought after in America, where he was interviewed and photographed regularly on his visits. He is famed for the use of large 'fresh water pearls' in his work, as can be seen in this parure. They were a reproduction of a particualrly unusual shaped pearl formed in Scandinavian lakes. Doubtlessly, this brooch and earrings set is a fabulous opportunity to own a piece of fashion history.

Wear it With...

A beautiful parure for a wedding guest, mother of the bride or bride. You can cherish and enjoy these pieces for years to come, as a memento of a special day. The wonder of a parure is the number of styling options available - you can wear both the earrings and brooch together or, if too much for your look for the day, wear them individually.
