The Details...

This bracelet features square cut, multi-faceted crystals along its length. They are pale blue and amethyst coloured. The crystals are claw set and they are set in and linked together with what is most likely to be sterling silver. The bracelet fastens with a bolt ring and measures 20cm in length.

A Short History...

Glass and crystal have been a prevelant feature of costume pieces since the invention of jewellery. Easily accessible materials that can be formed into any shape. They were heavily used in 1920s and 1930s pieces, such as this bracelet, because they could meet the need for affordable jewellery after the World War One and the Great Depression. They could also be pressed into the evocative geometric shapes we associate with Art Deco design.
