The Details...

This bracelet features a chunky gold tone metal open link chain, which fastens using a toggle clasp. The bracelet is detailed with red and brown plastic nut charms with hand painted details, red plastic round beads and gold tone metal leaf charms. The bracelet is 19cm in length. 

A Short History...

Plastic was a highly popular material in jewellery manufacture during the 1940s and 1950s. Newly pioneered injection molding processes, meant that plastic could be used to produce many identical pieces at the same time. This resulted in the cost per item of plastic pieces being very low and the material could therefore cater for post-wartime demands for affordable jewellery.
