The Details...

This bangle is constructed from black acrylic. It features three sunrise motifs hand-painted with gold, red and blue. It is also detailed with small, round, turquoise coloured rhinestones. The diameter of this bangle is 6.5cm.

A Short History...

Acrylic jewellery was first designed and produced in Germany in the 1930s. The use of acrylic for jewellery manufacture became popular because it was able to maintain its stability much better than other plastics. Two of the better known acrylic resinsare today known by their trade names, Plexiglas and Lucite.
