A Short History...

In addition to working with renowned designers to produce costume jewellery to accompany her Haute Couture collections, Elsa Schiaparelli licensed her name to jewellery produced by other companies from the 1940s through to the 1970s. American companies, such as Lisner and De Rosa, created jewellery in the Schiaparelli name and with the flamboyant and bold style that the designer was known for. By making pieces bearing Elsa's name, they met the demand of consumers who wanted to buy into the designer's imaginative aesthetic but that could not afford to travel to Paris to buy her items first hand. This bracelet is from the collection of Schiaparelli pieces produced in America in the 1950s.
