The Details...
This silver tone metal brooch features a sphinx, pyramid and palm tree motif. It is set with round, colourless paste stones and baguette cut, emerald green paste stones. The brooch fastens using a 'C' catch and the pin is fitted to the brooch with a round hinge. The brooch measures 4cm x 3cm.

A Short History...
In 1922, Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun and, thereby, ignited a Western fascination with Ancient Egypt which permeated the Arts. Jewellery designers created pieces influenced by Egyptian landmarks, as can be seen in this brooch. Reviving Egyptian motifs was a real 1920s celebration of adventure and the past.
