The Details...

This silver brooch and pendant features an almost lava or boulder like design detailed with square and round deep purple poured glass cabochons. The brooch fastens with a trombone catch and the fastening pin is fitted to the brooch with a round hinge. There is a loop on the reverse, so that the brooch can be worn as a pendant. The brooch is stamped 'Henry'.

A Short History...

This brooch is a wonderful example of the designs of Henry Perichon. The french jewellery creator was based in Lyon and worked primarily in bronze and silver, with his work influenced by medieval and renaissance art. His jewellery was especially popular in the 1950s and 1960s, as the materials he worked in and forms he shaped were perfect for the mid-century modernists. Perichon's pieces are very rare and, therefore, highly collectible.
