The Details...
This brooch is created from brushed gold tone metal. Its design resembles a plume of feathers. The brooch fastens with a traditional safety catch and the fastening pin is fitted to the brooch with a round hinge. The brooch is signed - 'TRIFARI' (with a crown above the 'T') is stamped into the back of the brooch with a copyright symbol.

A Short History...
From the 1950s, Trifari produced jewellery in brushed metals as a means of meeting a demand for costume jewellery that could be worn in the day time. The pieces were a great contrast to the rhinestone encrusted cocktail jewellery intended for wear after the sun had set. Trifari had observed a gap in the market and filled it. Their jewellery for daywear sold in huge numbers. Trifari's pared down, no-flash designs could be worn by working women - imagine a typing pool adorned in gold tone - and housewives alike - think of Betty Draper serving Don his steak in her faux pearls.
