The Details...

These silver tone drop earrings are each detailed with small, round Marcasite stones. The focal point of each earring is a Peking Glass panel moulded into a floral design. These earrings attach to the ear with a screw-back mechanism. They measure 5cm x 1cm.

A Short History...

The marcasite detailing and high quality glass in these earrings suggests that they were made in Czechoslovakia. They are two aspects that were popular in design in the country and, especially, prevelant in 1920s and 1930s Czechoslovakian costume jewellery. The Peking glass - named as such becasue of its resemblance to jade - would have complimented the popular Far Eastern inspired designs of the 1920s.

Wear it With...

These earrings are perfect for evening wear or a special occasion. They would look beautiful with a little black dress, but equally chic with a bridal gown.
