The Details...

These earrings feature a round red plastic cabochon. Suspended from this are plastic charms representing a flower, a nut, an orange and a lemon. The earrings are clip on, with gilt metal clips. The reverse of each clip is stamped 'W. Germany'.

All of our clip on earrings are supplied with removable pads for extra comfort.

A Short History...

Plastic was a highly popular material in jewellery manufacture during the 1940s and 1950s. Newly pioneered injection molding processes, meant that plastic could be used to produce many identical pieces at the same time. This resulted in the cost per item of plastic pieces being very low and the material could therefore cater for post-wartime demands for affordable jewellery.

Wear it With...

The red hues in these earrings make for an excellent pop of colour - pair with a white shirt and frayed denim cut offs. A bright red heel would also work well.
