The Details...

These gold tone earrings feature leaf motifs. They are detailed with small, round, turquoise and blue glass cabochons, large turquoise glass beads and small, round, topaz coloured rhinestones. The earrings measure 7cm x 2cm.

A Short History...

These earrings are emblematic of the 'Cocktail Style' of costume jewellery being produced and worn during the 1950s and 1960s. There was a craze for costume jewellery that was ostentatious and glitzy; featuring stones in outlandish sizes and showy colourways. This form of jewellery was referred to as 'cocktail' because it was commonly worn to a way of gathering together that was becoming increasingly popular - the cocktail party.

Wear it With...

These earrings would be a striking accompaniment to a black silk maxi dress on a summer evening.
