Christian Dior by Mitchel Maer 1950s Faux Pearl and Rhinestone Vintage Earrings

These glamorous clip on earrings were created by Mitchel Maer for Christian Dior between 1952 and 1956.  

Condition Report:

Very Good - Some darkening to some of the rhinestones due to ageing. This is only apparent upon close inspection and does not detract from the appeal of the earrings.

The Details...

These silver tone metal earrings are set with iridescent faux pearl cabochons and colourless navette rhinestones. All of the stones are claw set. The earrings measure 4cm x 1.5cm. The earrings are clip on. The reverse of one earring reveals an oval plaque stamped with 'CHRISTIAN DIOR BY MITCHEL MAER'. 

All of our clips come with removable pads for extra comfort, should you require it. 

A Short History...

These earrings can be dated to the 1950s, as the London based designer Mitchel Maer produced jewellery for the House of Dior between 1952 and 1956. His bold rhinestone creations for the house were popular, as they particularly complimented the couture evening wear designed by Dior during the decade. Today, they are most collectable because they demonstrate Maer's eye for interesting design.
