Very Good - A little rubbing to the metal reverse of the earrings. This is consistent with age and use and is not visible when worn.

The Details...

These silver tone earrings feature a starburst design. They are detailed with round clear, pink and blue rhinestones. All of the stones are faceted and claw set. The earrings measure 3cm in diameter. They are signed. The reverse of each earring is stamped with the Schoffel crown stamp. 

A Short History...

These earrings are emblematic of the 'Cocktail Style' of costume jewellery being produced and worn during the late 1940s and Early 1950s. In the post-war world there was a craze for costume jewellery that was ostentatious and glitzy; featuring stones in outlandish sizes and showy colourways. This form of jewellery was referred to as 'cocktail' because it was commonly worn to a way of gathering together that was becoming increasingly popular - the cocktail party.
