A Short History...

The popularity of the use of faux pearls within costume jewellery is undeniable. Between the 1920s and 1960s, they were enjoying a heyday, as they made pieces more affordable than rhinestone examples and were acceptable for daywear too. Famous costume jewellery brands, such as Chanel, Miriam Haskell and Schreiner, used faux pearls prolifically and many unsigned pieces were made using them to emulate their high end designs.
