Neiger Brothers 1920s East Asian Inspired Vintage Brooch

This beautiful brooch is emblematic of the 1920s fascination with the Eastern Asia.  It was created by the Neiger Brothers in Czechoslovakia. 

Condition Report:

Very Good - A small chip to one glass cabochon. This is only visible upon very close inspection and does not detract from the overall appeal of the piece.

The Details...

This gilt metal brooch features gilt metal, East Asian inspired lettering and green glass, circular cabochons made to resemble jade. The central green glass panel features a pressmolded dragon motif. Designed and made in Czechoslovakia by the Neiger Brothers, the brooch features their company's signature gilt metal filigree reverse. The brooch fastens using a 'C' catch and the pin is fitted to the brooch with a round hinge. This brooch measures 2.5cm x 4.5cm. A Short History...

The Neiger Brothers produced jewellery in the 1920s featuring pressmolded glass to cater for the trends of the Art Deco era. Their most popular lines were those inspired by Egypt and East Asia, as can be seen in this brooch.
