Neiger Brothers 1920s East Asian Inspired Vintage Dragon Necklace

This wonderful necklace is emblematic of the 1920s fascination with Eastern Asia.  It was created by the Neiger Brothers in Czechoslovakia.

The Details...

This gilt metal necklace features a central design detailed with East Asian style lettering, dragon and cloud motifs. It features green glass, circular cabochons made to resemble jade. The central green glass panel features a pressmolded East Asian inspired symbol. The central design is painted with a pale green paint to give the effect of oxidisation and the impression that the piece is antique. The necklace features a curb link chain and fastens with a bolt ring. Designed and made in Czechoslovakia by the Neiger Brothers, the necklace features their company's signature gilt metal filigree reverse. A Short History...

The Neiger Brothers produced jewellery in the 1920s featuring pressmolded glass to cater for the trends of the Art Deco era. Their most popular lines were those inspired by Egypt and East Asia, as can be seen in this necklace.
