Archimede Seguso for Chanel 1960s Vintage Amber Coloured Glass Link Necklace

This beautiful necklace is a stylish example of the collaboration between Archimede Seguso and the house of Chanel.

Condition Report:

Very Good - A couple of small areas of oxidisation on the gilt metal caps. This is consistent with age and does not detract from the overall appeal of the piece.

The Details...

This necklace features pale and dark amber coloured glass links, detailed with gold plated metal caps at their ends and interspersed with gold plated metal beads. The necklace fastens using a box clasp, which is detailed with a bow design. The necklace measures 49cm in length.

A Short History...

The Seguso family have been producing glass artifacts on the island of Murano, in Venice, since the 14th Century. In the late 1960s Archimede Seguso was invited by Chanel to produce a collection of glass jewellery to compliment the brand's clothing designs. A highly collectible range of pieces resulted from this collaboration in arresting colour ways and with fascinating faux pearl, rhinestone and gold plated details.

Wear it With...

This is a whenever and wherever piece. It looks beautiful for evening, with a Little Black Dress or, for day, sitting on top of a pale grey knit peeking out from under a trench coat.
