The Details...

This gold plated, herringbone chain necklace is detailed with a central chevron shaped design detailed with cream coloured enamel. The necklace fastens with a bolt ring. It is adjustable in length, using an open-link chain. The necklace is signed - at the end of the open-link chain there is a 'CD' shaped charm and this is stamped with 'Chr.Dior', a copyright symbol. The necklace is between 38cm and 42cm in length. 

A Short History...

This necklace is an excellent example of Christian Dior's dazzling, yet wearable, jewellery from the 1970s. During this decade, the fashion house prodiced a collection of pieces inspired by the Art Deco era and this necklace, with its clean lines and geometric shaping, is from this collection. It was created by the German company Henkel and Gross√© for Dior.
