The Details...

The ring features a central, oval shaped, red glass cabochon. This is claw set and surrounded by red rhinestones, which are also claw set. The band of the ring is constructed from silver tone metal.

A Short History...

Glamourous and affordable rhinestone jewellery was still prevelant in the 1960s, even though the post-war necessity for it had obviously waned. Featuring stones in outlandish sizes and showy colourways, this form of jewellery was referred to as 'cocktail' because it was commonly worn to a way of gathering together that was becoming increasingly popular - the cocktail party.
