The Details...

This lovely parure comprises of a brooch and earrings. Each piece features green enamel leaves. Flowers are created from round, turquoise glass cabochons and round, purple and pink rhinestones. All of the stones are faceted and claw set. The set is constructed from gold tone metal. The brooch fastens with a round traditional safety catch and the pin is secured to the brooch with a round hinge. The pieces are all signed - 'Hobé 1966' is stamped into an oval panel on the reverse of the brooch and 'Hobé' is stamped into the reverse of each earring clip. The brooch measures 8cm x 4cm. The earrings measure 2.5cm x 2cm.

This jewellery set is the epitome of mid-century glamour. It represents the influence of nature upon fifties and sixties jewellery. Indeed, couturiers, such as Dior and Balenciaga, were heavily influenced by floral motifs and it is no surprise that other  jewellery manufacturers were producing pieces that echoed Parisian trends.
