Knoll and Pregizer 1920s Art Deco Silver and Paste Vintage Bracelet and Ring Set in Original Box

The Details...

In its original fitted box, this jewellery set is a remarkable find. It's rare enough to find matching pieces by Knoll and Pregizer, let alone to find them in their original case. The set features a ring and bracelet. They are constructed from silver and detailed with hand-set, round and baguette cut, clear paste stones. Both pieces are adorned with square cut, multifacted, unfoiled, ruby red paste stones. The bracelet fastens with a box clasp and features a safety catch. The bracelet measures 18cm in length. The ring is a UK size L 1/2. Both pieces are signed and hallmarked. The tab on the box clasp of the bracelet is stamped '935' and features the bisecting 'KP' stamp of Knoll and Pregizer. The band of the ring is also stamped with the 'KP' mark. There is a silver mark too, although this has rubbed to be very feint due to age and wear. 

A Short History...

The work of Knoll and Pregizer is treasured by jewellery afficionados the world over because of its fine quality, timeless design and rarity. The company was founded in 1887 by Theodor Eberhard Friedrich Knoll and Friedrich Pregizer and their pieces were sold in the finest high end stores across Europe and America. Still in its original box, it's likely that this set was sold through one of these exclusive boutiques. Indeed, fine jewellery retailers sold high quality paste items by Knoll and Pregizer too because the design and appearance of their pieces so closely resembled the work of master jewellers, such as Cartier. Wealthy women, who might be afraid to travel with their vastly expensive 'real' jewels, could take pieces by Knoll and Pregizer abroad instead without fear of major financial loss if they were stolen.
