A Short History...

Floral and natural motifs were an approved choice amongst 1950s jewellery designers. Many opted for literal interpretations with delicate flowers and pretty petals, whilst other companies, such as Matisse, chose to present the natural world through more abstract and stylised forms. This 'fern' design is typical of the Matisse company's directional slant on what could have otherwise been a predictable design - the layering of the enamel and copper tones gives a beautiful 3D effect

Wear it With...

The wonder of a parure is the number of styling options available - you can wear both the earrings and brooch together or, if too much for your look, wear them individually. The copper jewellery of Matisse Renoir looks sensational with tan tones.
