The Details...

This bracelet and earrings are constructed from Sterling Silver plated brass. They are detailed with charms inspired by East Asia, which feature symbols, lanterns, dragons, Bhudda and pagodas. The links of the bracelet have a hammered finish and the charms are accented with coloured glass beads. The bracelet fastens with a bolt ring and the earrings are clip on. The bracelet is stamped 'NAPIER' on the bolt ring. The bracelet is 18cm in length. The earrings measure 5cm x 2.5cm.

A Short History...

In the 1950s, the charm bracelet became one of the most popular forms of jewellery. The Napier company catered for this trend by creating a range of whimsical charm bracelets throughout the decade. Introduced in 1958, the 'Shangri-La' bracelet was Napier's best seller and was probably designed by their head designer, Eugene Bertoli. A gold version of this charm bracelet features in the book 'The Napier Company' by Melinda L. Lewis.
