The Details...

This parure consists of a brooch and earrings. Both are constructed from Trifari's specially developed brushed gold tone metal, known as 'Trifanium' and are detailed with plastic turquoise cabochons that are shaped like leaves or petals. The brooch fastens with a round safety catch and the fastening pin is fitted to the reverse of the brooch with a round hinge. The earrings are clip on. Both pieces are stamped 'Trifari' with a crown above the 'T' and a copyright symbol. The brooch measures 8cm x 4cm and the earrings are 1.5cm x 2cm.

A Short History...

This parure is an excellent example of the 1960s trend for rich and bold colours. Indeed, women during the decade demanded striking and eye-catching hue combinations. Brightly coloured plastics were a popular choice amongst costume jewellers for blocking colour and Trifari produced many pieces, such as this parure, that incorporated the material.

Wear it With...

This parure would add exceptional interest and detailing to any look. The beauty of a parure is that the pieces can be worn individually for a subtle effect or together for a maximum impact. Wear the brooch alone pinned to a denim jacket, wear the earrings alone with summer silk or wear the pieces together with a floral maxi dress - pin the brooch to the v-neckline.
