The Details...

This necklace features round, faceted, clear crystals along its length. The crystals are claw set and increase in size towards the centre of the necklace. The necklace fastens with a bolt ring. 

A Short History...

Glass and crystal have been a prevelant feature of costume pieces since the invention of jewellery. Easily accessible materials that can be formed into any shape. They were heavily used in 1920s and 1930s pieces, such as this necklace, because they could meet the need for affordable jewellery after the World War One and the Great Depression. They could also be pressed into the evocative geometric shapes we associate with Art Deco design.
