1920s Art Deco Vintage Brass Snake Choker

The Details...

This necklace is crafted from brass. It features a snake chain and is detailed at either end with the head and tail of a snake. The necklace fastens through the snake biting his tail - his mouth and tail form a box clasp. The snake's head is pressed with lots of details and he features round, red paste eyes. The necklace is a choker longth and measures 37cm in length. 

A Short History...

Inspired by the Egyptian Revival aesthetic of the time, the snake was a recurring motif in jewellery of the 1920s. Due to its ability to wrap around, the snake was popularly used in necklaces and bracelets.
