The Details...

This ring is created from rolled gold. It bears an original label stamped 'DOUBL√Č FIXE', which is the French term for referring to jewellery which was made in such a way. It features a central red molded glass lionhead design, highlighted with gold paint. In the lion's mouth their is a small, round, clear rhinestone. The lion motif is claw set. The ring is a UK size Q 1/2. 

A Short History...

Rolled gold is created from a plate of copper between two very thin plates of gold. It was popularly used in French costume jewellery production from the 1900s to the 1930s.
