The Details...

The ring features a central oval shaped section of abalone shell. This is claw set and mounted within a highly decorative gold tone metal shank which is detailed with a toadstools on a woodland floor design. This ring is a UK size 'T'.

A Short History...

The jewellery of the Art Nouveau period can be exemplified by an allusion to the natural world. This ring is particularly representative of this aesthetic phase, which began in the 1880s and started to wane in the 1900s/1910s. Not only do the toadstools literally portray nature, this piece incorporates natural materials in its design - abalone shell.
