The Details...

The pieces within this parure are silver tone and feature a 'leaf' design detailed with navette, teardrop and round, purple and green rhinestones and round diamantes. All of the stones are faceted and claw set. The necklace is adjustable in length and fastens with a 'hook and tail' mechanism and also has a saftey chain for added security, allowing you to feel confident about wearing this collectable piece. The earrings are clip on and the brooch fastens using a round safety catch. All of the pieces are signed with oval shaped plates that read 'Christian Dior by Mitchel Maer'. The maximum length of the necklace is 42cm. The earrings measure 2.5cm x 4cm. The brooch measures 4.5cm x 5cm.

A Short History...

These pieces can be dated to the 1950s, as the London based designer Mitchel Maer produced jewellery for the House of Dior between 1952 and 1956. His bold rhinestone creations for the house were popular, as they particularly complimented the couture evening wear designed by Dior during the decade.
