The Details...

This stunning necklace features a delicate gold plated curb link chain. It is detailed with cloisonné beads and faux pearls. There is a central, rhodium plated metal butterfly detailed with green, yellow and blue enamel and encrusted at the tip of its wings with clear, round rhinestones. At the centre of the necklace, there is also a turquoise howlite disc stamped with the 'Dior' logo. The necklace is signed - it features a hanging 'D' charm stamped with 'Dior'. The necklace is adjustable in length and can be worn as short as a choker. It fastens with a lobster claw clasp. The necklace measures 37.5cm at its full length. This necklace comes with its original Dior box - the satin pad inside this box shows some signs of wear, but this does not detract from the overall appeal of the box.

A Short History...

Examples of Christian Dior jewellery from the late 1990s and the early 2000s are becoming highly collectable and will certainly be antiques of the future eventually. This is because they represent the era during which the controversial designer John Galliano was at the helm. He specialised in producing collections that embraced fantasy, whilst nodding to the heritage of Dior and its position as a global superbrand. Galliano was a creative tour de force, with both excellent design skills and imagination - the quality of this necklace is testimony to this. This piece is a chance to own an accessible and evocative item by a gentleman who will forever be a part of fashion history.

Wear it With...

This necklace works well with any form of style - it looks ultra-cool sat on top of a black polo neck jumper.
