The Details...

These earrings feature a 'door knocker' style design, made from hammered gold tone metal. They measure 5cm x 3.75cm. They can be adapted to be a small hoop earring - the largest hoop can be detached from the top part of the earring (please see the images). These earrings are signed - 'KENNETH LANE' and a copyright symbol is stamped onto the reverse of both clips and both larger hoops. A Short History...

In the 1970s, jewellery that would shimmer under a disco ball was essential. These earrings would have been the perfect accompaniment to the block coloured maxi dress and glitter platforms that could have been worn at the time of its manufacture. As they are a Kenneth Jay Lane piece one could easily imagine these earrings having been worn on the dancefloor at Studio 54. They are highly remeniscent of an era of decadant disco.
