The Details...

These gold tone earrings feature a design that resembles a bunch of grapes. They are detailed with green glass stonese suspended from an open-link chain. The earrings are signed - 'BOUCHER' and a copyright symbol is stamped onto the reverse of one earrings and a patent number of 35588 is stamped into the reverse of the other earring. The earrings measure 3cm x 1.5cm.

Glass has been a prevelant feature of costume pieces since the invention of jewellery. An easily accessible material that can be formed into any shape and dyed any colour. Glass was heavily used in mid-century pieces, such as these earrings, because of it's ability to meet the need for affordable jewellery during and after the Second World War.

Wear it With...

These earrings would look sensational worn with a black knit jumper, grey jeans and black suede ankle boots - standing out brightly against the dark colours.
