The Details...

This necklace features five copper panels enamelled in white. They are joined together by copper links and framed by linear copper designs etched with lines. The necklace is adjustable in length, using an open link chain and fastening with a hook and eye mechanism. The necklace can be between 35cm and 43cm in length. It is signed - 'Matisse' and a copyright symbol is stamped into the reverse of the hook fastening.

A Short History...

In 1946, the Renoir company was founded and Matisse was established as a subsidiary company in 1952. Both companies are famed for their beautiful copper jewellery - Renoir produced pieces in very geometric designs and Matisse jewellery was decorated with colourful enamels.
