I've recently enjoyed watching the film 'Colette', which tells the story of the French novelist Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette and her marriage to the writer Henry Gauthier-Villars. The costumes in the film were wonderful - it's such an evocative interpretation of Belle Époque Paris and I'd recommend it to anyone interested in that period of history. Colette led such an interesting life - here she is starring in her own production 'Rêve d'Egypte' at the Moulin Rouge in 1907. She's adorned in a fabulous array of theatrical jewellery.

Photographed by Peter Lindbergh in 1988, Linda Evangelista wears a hat by Stephen Jones and Herve van der Straeten earrings.
