    The Details...

    This necklace is constructed from silver gilt. Along its length are shell-inspired motifs, which are detailed with swirling silver filigree patterns and small, round Marcasite stones. The necklace fastens with a bolt ring. It is signed. The back of the necklace is stamped 'TF 925 ORIGINAL FAHRNER'. The necklace measures 38cm in length.

    This necklace is part of a collection of silver gilt filigree jewellery, which the Theodor Fahrner company produced post 1932. The filigree designs were created when the silver was soldered with corded wire. Fahrner jewellery of this type features prominently in the book 'Theodor Fahrner Jewellery - Between Avant Garde and Tradition' .
