    The Details...

    This necklace and earrings set has a matte gold plated finish. It features a design detailed with a lines and dots pattern. The necklace fastens with a fold-over clasp. The earrings are clip on. Although unsigned, the set comes with its original Ciro box. The internal diameter of this necklace is 11cm making the internal circumference 34.5cm. The earrings measure 2.75cm x 3cm.

    1980s style can be effectively explained by the term 'power dressing'. Womenswear was tailored to challenge notions of who was 'boss' and costume jewellery was created to reflect fashion that showed control. Pieces, such as this necklace, were bold and flashy. Adornment in the eighties was a vocabulary for saying 'I'm in charge'.

    - Try not to get your jewellery wet. Some costume jewellery manufacturers utilised water soluble glue in the making of their pieces. Getting your jewellery wet could cause rhinestones and other details to fall away over time.

    - If you wish to clean your jewellery, use a soft polishing cloth or a soft brush.
